Every environment artist knows the loop: block out a space, then spend days placing rocks, grass, props and modular pieces by hand — or fight an external tool that exports meshes your engine treats like foreign objects. We built Numivo to end that loop.
Numivo is a level design toolkit that runs inside your editor. A native plugin for Unreal Engine 5.3+ and an editor package for Unity 2022 LTS+, sharing one core — so a species preset you tune in Unreal drops into Unity unchanged.
What's in the box
- Surface Scatter — paint thousands of assets in seconds, with per-species rules like Avoid and Attract, slope and altitude masks, and believable clustering.
- Mesh Blending — rocks, props and architecture melt into the terrain with pixel-perfect normal transitions and zero runtime cost.
- Smart Grids — rectangular, circular, polygonal and hex layouts projected onto any surface, with masks and incremental rotation.
- Measure Everything — snapping measurements, minimum distances and numeric entry for metrically perfect gameplay spaces.
- Content Browser at Scale — browse a million assets with instant thumbnails and optional AI search.
The part we're proudest of
Everything Numivo produces bakes to native engine assets: instanced meshes, foliage, standard materials. Your build ships without a single line of Numivo in it — no runtime dependency, no license check in your game, nothing to explain to certification. If you remove the plugin tomorrow, your scenes still open and still ship.
That decision drives everything else. It's why Numivo stays under 150 MB of RAM in typical scenes, why brush latency stays below a millisecond on the GPU path, and why your version control just works: baked results diff like any other engine asset.
Pricing that respects how teams actually buy
There's a permanently free tier for personal use and evaluation — core scatter and all measure tools, no time limit. Pro covers commercial work on both engines with one license. Studio adds floating seats, source access and CI integration. And for subscription-averse folks there's a Lifetime license: one payment, version 1 forever, all v1 bug fixes until 2.0.

What's next
The roadmap is public and driven by what production teams ask for. Found a workflow Numivo should handle better? Tell us or join the Discord — several tools in the box exist because someone described a problem in enough detail to nerd-snipe us.
